The location of World Rugby Museum at Twickenham Stadium
Rugby Road. “The Russian team were selling caviar and vodka to fund their trip,” says Rugby Football Union for Women President and former England captain Gill Burns.
“They were probably selling it illegally, but they needed to find money from somewhere to pay for their part in the World Cup. It’s developed massively since then – it’s done so much more professionally now.”
To mark the occasion, the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham Stadium is hosting a variety of posters, objects and images from the earliest days of the game, including previous World Cup trophies.
Visit Twickenham Stadium home of the Rugby World Cup Champions and the Webb Ellis Cup. Ticket includes: a fascinating behind the scenes Guided Tour featuring breathtaking views from the top of the North Stand, a visit to the player tunnel and the famous England changing rooms with their 60 year old baths.
