Rahul Dravid has averaged just 21.66 in the present series — 65 in three innings at a strike rate of 32.01.In just six Tests this year, Tendulkar has aggregated 677 runs at an average of 96.71.His aggregate includes five hundreds and one fifty. His centuries’ tally is the highest this year.
Tendulkar’s tally of 48 hundreds, including 27 on foreign soil, are both records in Tests. Tendulkar has registered nine hundreds against Sri Lanka — the most by any batsman against Sri Lanka. Tendulkar’s unbeaten 108 is his first century in eleven years in Sri Lanka.
But none of the home bowlers looked threatening on a placid wicket, where the batsman’s dismissal had more to do with him getting impatient, and the bowling trying to ensure the same rather than focussing on pitching it in the right areas.
And going by the manner in which the bowlers have struggled to make any impact on the SSC wicket, it would suffice to say this Test is headed for a draw.
